River Sand Alternate – Construction Field @ May 2013

This article deals with a real world alternative to river sand. It’s already been used in our neighboring Country and the funniest factor, this sand flows all the way from our Country. Well am talking about our Himalayan Mountains and Bangladesh.

For centuries, sand has being flowing with the river, that originates from Himalaya and ends up in Bay of Bengal Sea. Well, Ganga and Brahmaputa rivers carry the mass loads of sands.

Ganga, the holy river originates from Himalayan Mountains and flows over 2500 kilometers through Kanpur, Allahabab, Varanasi, Patna, Etc and flows to our neighboring Country Bangladesh and then to Bay of Bengal.

Brahmaputra origin in the Angsi Glacier, located on the northern side of the Himalayas and flows through Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and then to Bay of Bengal.

These rivers carry tons and tons of Himalayan Sand to the Sea every year, a resent Satellite data shows that, if the deposited sand is loaded individually on Big Cargo Container lorries, these lorry queue will be as long as to reach the moon and half the way from moon to earth.

If you think sand collection from these rivers and using them in our building construction sites is a Utopian idea, kindly give me a second; recently a group of CEO’s from big companies like Google, have come up with a big idea to fetch pure, fresh quality water and rare minerals. The word fetch has a catch, the idea is to find Asteroids in space that contains, water and rare minerals, collect the needful from the Asteroid and bring them to earth and sell it.

So if water and rare minerals can be found, extracted and brought to earth for sales from space, collecting, transporting and using sand from Ganga and Brahmaputa rivers in our own Construction areas is like kids with sweet candies.

This sand is used widely in Bangladesh, indeed the Himalayan sand plays a very important role, even for the very existence of a Country like Bangladesh, as the ever raising Sea Level is always a High Priority Issue. The resent sand alternative, M-Sand (a bi product from Stone Queries), needs a human intervened destruction process to produce M-Sand.

If we are at least able to use this Himalayan Sand in our own State like Kerala, and stop using river sand, it’s a big plus point for rejuvenating our rivers and in a matter of time, when nature itself is a big self healer, she will raise to her glory.

So think and act wisely, it’s high time to act.

Thank you.
